After the trip to the zoo last month, the trip to the aquarium was much anticipated by the residents on the 2nd floor ? in fact, the majority of the floor went with us, and we had to take two bus loads to get everyone there! We took 13 Residents and some accompanying family members to lunch and then toured the aquarium exhibits. The lunch food was delicious and beautifully presented. Moreover, our waiters were fantastic and so very accommodating and helpful. The dining room was beautiful, surrounded by fish tank walls. In the middle of the meal we received the first visit from some mermaids in the tanks. Who knew they were real?
The aquarium itself was fantastic for the Residents, and they all enjoyed sitting in front of the glass and watching sea turtles, fish, sharks, and stingrays swim past. With as hot as it was outside, it was wonderful to have the air conditioning too. Each Resident had a favorite exhibit, from the sharks to the tiger. Yes, the aquarium has a tiger. It even swam for some of the group. Halfway through there was another mermaid show that everyone seemed to really enjoy. They were certainly underwater acrobats! The Residents even got to meet them at the end of the trip and get their pictures with them. The trip was quite a hit with the Residents, with so many fish that were big, up close, and easy for everyone to see. And of course, as with the zoo, all of the children and babies were a great hit with the Residents too. Some of the kids even came over to visit and give high fives to a few of the Residents. Everyone came back happy and with big appetites for supper!
SOMETHING ‘FISHY’ IS GOING ON AROUND HERE!
