The Mullen Home has a butterfly garden! The Butterfly Pavilion paired with Mullen Home to sponsor this exciting opportunity.
First, the education department from the Butterfly Pavilion came to educate the Residents, staff and volunteers about butterflies and the plants they need to survive.
Then they came with special plants and worked with the Residents and volunteers to plant them.
The Residents have taken charge of watering the garden! The flowers will bloom all summer long to attract and offer a place for butterflies to eat as well as to lay eggs. We are looking forward to caterpillars!
Soon the Pavilion will send us a chrysalis (cocoon) and will get to watch as the butterfly hatches then release it into our garden! Thank you Butterfly Pavilion for providing us with this exciting opportunity!
