On the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13, days of rain with snow mixed in stopped long enough for the annual home school May Crowning in the Mullen Home Chapel. Families from as far away as Bennett, Castle Rock, and Winter Park came for the festivities. Children and babies, parents and grandparents attended Mass with the Residents and sang traditional hymns to the Blessed Mother. First communicants processed in with our chaplain, Father Tim Kremen, Michael Lee carried the crown and Sadie Morrison crowned Mary. Janie Rhodes, who oversees our medical records department, accompanied on guitar. Elisa Dean, aged 11, played a sweet “Ave Maria” on her violin. After the event, the families went out to the spring-flowering back yard to recite the Rosary and enjoy a picnic lunch.
