The lights were shining bright on stage in the auditorium this Holy Week. On Monday, March 30 Residents, staff and volunteers joined together to perform a 15 act Passion Play, bringing to life the Stations of the Cross. From beginning to end, the darkened auditorium was filled with peaceful and reverent reflections as Residents, staff and guests looked on at each scene. Brother Anthony’s portrayal of Jesus was most inspiring.
The sober scenes sank deeply into the hearts of both the actors and audience members as we listened to the reflections read for each Station. Once volunteer who participated in the play commented that the experience of participating was humbling, and that her favorite scene was the last one, the joyful resurrection, where all the actors were on stage singing a joyful song about Our Lord’s resurrection. The Mullen Home was blessed with the presence of Mother Provincial for Holy Week.
After the performance she said that she was struck by the peaceful “prayerfulness” in the room. It was wonderful for us to begin Holy Week together and to remember what God’s love for us put him through. His love for us is truly great!
Passion Play a Major Success with Residents and Staff
