Nora’s 100th Birthday
Even though COVID-19 has brought a halt to many celebrations, it could not stop the celebration of Nora Romero’s 100th birthday festivities. On Sunday, September 27, the red carpet was rolled out on the grounds of Mullen Home. Nora was brought down the red carpet just as a Mariachi Band’s music began floating through and around the iron rod gate and fence. Not only was Nora treated to this energizing and engaging music, but the other Residents and surrounding neighbors were entertained by this lively performance for the hour that they played. The Romero family enjoyed their time and music with their beloved Nora all the while honoring social distancing.
On Monday, September 28, the whole Home participated in the festivities for Nora’s birthday. That day, Mass was offered for Nora and her intentions and then she was given a cake as the Little Sisters, Staff and Residents sang Happy Birthday to her at the lunchtime meal. A good time was had by all.
