For the second year in a row, we hosted the perfect event for Father’s Day: a classic car show featuring some of the best restored and maintained “rides” from days gone by. Residents, staff, and all ages of car enthusiasts were dazzled by the shiny chrome and the deep-waxed bumper-to-bumper presentations of the cars provided by a local car club. Also dazzling was the 90-degree heat but no sweat – the Good Lord provided us with a light breeze to cool everything down as the Residents reminisced and voted for their favorite classic car.
First, Second, and Third place winners received brass-plated trophies. Hot dogs and ice cream served a tasty reprieve from the heat and everyone enjoyed the oldies sung by the one and only Johnnie R. Everyone agreed it was the perfect afternoon as guests appreciatively noted: “We really enjoyed looking at the vintage cars and visiting with their proud owners. The music was fun and made you want to kick up your heels.”
