A week before “Black Friday,” the Mullen Home family invited to their annual Rummage and Christmas Sale. Residents, staff, volunteers and many people from the neighborhood took advantage of great deals. In addition of rummage sale items such as dishes, containers, hangers etc. in the auditorium, a separate “Christmas Shop” had been set up in the “O’Fallon-Room” which attracted many shoppers looking for that special gift for a loved one. Many Residents took advantage of the occasion to show off their hand-crafted items and to do a little early Christmas gift shopping themselves.
It is a great opportunity for the neigborhood to come and get to know the “inside” of a Home that so many only see from the street, and often wonder what’s behind those walls. But then, the name “Mullen Home” is well known in Denver – many have volunteered over the years at the Home – it is also a chance to re-connect or to see the changes that have taken place over the years.
We are very grateful for the support, the great work of the Activities staff who have started preparing for the sale since the summer, for the Residents who hand-crafted items, staffed the cashiers and brought their families…
Since there are a few items left, people were very generous with donations, the Christmas Shop will stay open until November 28th.
All in all, the Sale brought in more than $2,000 – all for the benefit of the Little Sisters’ Homes in Columbia!
Black Friday coming early to Mullen Home…
