Sunday, November 11, 2012, Veterans Day
This seemed a very appropriate day for us to remember the Residents who had died during the last year: Fr. Joseph Carbone, OSM, Eva Cernich, Reynalda Garcia, Aurora Mora, Dominick and Theresa Schiano, Rosemary Sunderland, and Bob Sweeney. These seven very special people shared our life here at Mullen Home, and, as Father pointed out, were an example of preparing for that last, most important step in our lives when we go home to our Father in heaven.
Each one of us remembers different stories of them, little habits they had, little comments they used to make, where they used to sit, what they liked to eat, and how they brought joy into our lives, sometimes by their simple presence. We pray for the repose of their souls, but more so for their families and friends that even in their grief, they will remember how each one touched and enriched our lives.
“Lord, for your faithful people life is changed, not ended. When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven.”
May they rest in peace
Remembering those who have gone before us…
