You might say the New Year started off with a lot of doodling! On Friday, January 7, the Residents gathered for a farewell party to say goodbye to the old, main dining room where renovations are soon to begin. As everyone gathered in the room they were surprised to be handed a big, fat marker of their choice and told they could write or draw on the walls – now how often does that happen?! After writing prayers and poems, drawing assorted pictures and playing games like tic-tac-toe, we were all treated to root beer floats. Residents, staff, and Little Sisters enjoyed viewing the artwork and writings, the words of gratitude for life at Mullen Home, and prayers for the construction workers for a successful renovation. During the renovations, our Auditorium has been doing double-duty as dining room and activity center!
IF WALLS COULD TALK!
