When it comes to Mardi Gras parades, New Orleans has nothing on the folks here at Mullen Home!!! Creative floats, presented by each of the departments (nursing, administrative, activities, etc.), provided a festive introduction to the big team event that included not only staff but Residents, Sisters, and volunteers!! To begin the festivities, Mother Patricia crowned Residents John Gillin and Eloisa Pacheco the official King & Queen to oversee the grand celebration. And then the colorful floats made their way into the auditorium. Each one was fashioned from a popular theme, i.e., the nursery rhyme of the old woman who lived in a shoe, the Bronco horse mascot and cheering fans, covered wagon en route to the west complete with cowboys and Indians, and a float that was a Root Beer Mug that cleverly allowed volunteers to pass out root beer and ice cream to the audience members.
