On Friday, June 6, our new outdoor Stations of the Cross were blessed and dedicated by the Most Reverend Samuel J. Aquila, S.T.L., Archbishop of Denver, during a late-afternoon dedication ceremony. Ominous clouds and threats of rain were persistent throughout the day, but St. Joseph made possible a clear blue sky, sunshine and pleasant temperatures in time for Archbishop Samuel’s arrival. Over sixty guests and benefactors who had made contributions for a Station in memory of a deceased loved one were able to attend, as well as a group of Residents. One benefactor and his family came from Chicago. Their daughter had been a volunteer at the Home before she died. Short but meaningful meditations of the Stations of the Cross were prayed by the Archbishop as he led us along the pathway leading from the original entrance across the yard. The small trees planted along the way last year were now growing and full of life. Our guests stayed for refreshments following the ceremony.
