“Oh Mary we crown Thee with Blossoms today”
By tradition, the month of May is Mary’s month, which usually begins or culminates with the crowning of Mary as Queen of heaven and earth. For several years, it has been a tradition at Mullen Home for our Residents to have the joy of seeing the homeschoolers from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and other parishes dressed up in their white flowing dresses laden with flowers as they processed up the aisle to offer them to Our Lady and crown her as Mother and Queen for all mankind.
Due to Covid-19, we instead invited our newest Resident, Maria Rita Wano to crown Our Lady. It gave her so much joy as she herself stated, “I finally have the privilege of crowning my Mother.” As she was wheeled up the aisle, her gaze was completely fixed on Our Lady of Fatima.
