May 1, otherwise called May Day, and often celebrated as St. Joseph, the worker, day, is an important day for members of the Association Jeanne Jugan. This is the day they gather together and renew their promises to “serve God in the elderly.” Thirty-two members strong, the Association is a vital support group for the Sisters, staff, and especially the Residents. They are a generous and loving people who wish to grow in Christian holiness, and volunteer their time at the home doing various activities, i.e., making beds, assisting with events in the Home, and spending quality time visiting with the Residents. Their yearly gathering of renewing promises begins in the chapel participating in Mass and singing songs of worship, love, and service. After, they assist in serving the noon meal to the Residents, and then enjoy a sit down lunch which gives them a chance to be pampered! Thank you, dear Association Jeanne Jugan, for all your love and service.
