Thank You, Dr. Fishman!
Superheroes don’t wear capes, they wear stethoscopes and give freely of their knowledge, their care, and their compassion.
In 1996, Dr. Paul Fishman walked through the doors of Little Sisters of the Poor Mullen Home as the new Medical Director. He built long lasting relationship with the Little Sisters, the Staff, and the Residents for whom he provided care for over the past 26 years. Dr. Fishman said his “good-byes” last Friday, the 28th of January, without the much-deserved fanfare that 26 years of service would deserve.
Dr. Fishman asked us to not make “a big deal over it.” He preferred to walk out those same doors that first brought his amazing service to us: quietly and without a fuss. The Little Sisters would not let him leave without some appreciation and a wee bit of recognition. Gathered with a few Staff present, the Little Sisters presented Dr. Fishman with a gift basket and a plaque to commemorate his dedication and service to Mullen Home. His smile and gentle demeanor will truly be missed.
Thank You, Dr. Fishman!
