Celebrating St. Jeanne Jugan’s Feast Day

  • September 15, 2011

In preparation for St Jeanne Jugan’s Feast Day the staff thought about What Would Jeanne Jugan Do Today? Then for the week we had to find which department Jeanne Jugan was visiting from the clues the department heads had written describing what Jeanne Jugan would be asking them in today’s world. When an employee discovered where Jeanne Jugan was they went to that department and picked up her picture and turned it in for a prize. We all learned about Jeanne Jugan and realized her mission of caring for the elderly is timeless.

The residents also learned many facts about Jeanne Jugan’s by playing “Jeanne Jugan Bingo”, a lesson in begging through a scavenger hunt, and a visit from Jeanne Jugan out
in the garden to share recount her sayings. On the feast day we all enjoyed a carnival in the afternoon with Sisters, Residents, AJJ members, and employees. “Blessed be God” for such a wonderful time celebrating the Feast of St. Jeanne Jugan.
