It was a bright May day and a perfect day for flying a kite! The Residents, with the help of Regis University Nursing Students, did just that. Residents, students, and staff gathered first in the garden to write wishes on each of the kites before they were sent heavenward. Messages such as:
“I wish they wouldn’t deploy my grandson until he can see his baby born.” … “Heaven here I come!” … … “I wish I could reach the sky!” … “I wish God’s grace will be with us just as it always has been.” … and Father Jan wrote: “I wish to get as many people to heaven as possible.”
After writing the wishes on each kite, the Regis students flew the kites while the Residents watched and enjoyed a root-beer float.
A perfect day for flying a kite!
