Wow! What an incredible, non-traditional Halloween our Home had! Sixth-grade students from St. Vincent De Paul – in full costume dress – made a visit and entertained the Residents.
Since our 100-year celebration theme this year has been “through the decades”, the students dressed up as famous people representing an era of their choice. They researched 10 facts about their “famous person” and challenged the Residents to guess who the famous person was.
Their costumes were very creative — Pippi Longstocking, Michael Jordan, Frank Sinatra, Shirley Temple, Lucille Ball, Bob Marley, The “slinky”, and many more! Students also made place-mats representing their “famous person” which were used by the Residents during their lunch. After joining in the rosary and Mass, the students then enjoyed a nice packed lunch in our O’Fallon room.
Employees joined in the Halloween spirit by having a “Crazy Sock Day”. Residents voted by applause the lst, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
